JEJU, March 21 (Korea Bizwire) — Jeju International Airport has seen a higher number of visitors in the pandemic era, despite the shutdown of its international terminal.
The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Office analyzed traffic data at the airport, which showed that 4,734,792 people came to or left from Jeju Airport in January and February.
Despite the full shutdown of the international terminal, the airport saw its number of visitors rise by 90,080 people from the pre-pandemic era in January and February 2019.
Compared to the same period last year (2,777,393 people), the number of visitors has gone up by a whopping 1,957,399 people, reflecting the government’s ‘With Corona’ policy.
This year, an average of 80,251 people used the airport each day between January and February, during which the load factor of all flights reached 87.1 percent.
Even in the last 30 days, the daily average number of visitors has gone up to 80,931 people, indicating that visitor numbers are on a constant rise.
