SEOUL, June 17 (Korea Bizwire) — Yuhan-Kimberly Ltd., a maker of sanitary products in South Korea, said Thursday it will be receiving applications for a “sleeping contest” until June 30.
The contest, commemorating its seventh year, is held in a city forest as a chance to “recover” from the lack of sleep rampant in modern society.
Organizers will choose 30 participants, who will engage in a “sleeping battle” at Olympic Park in southeastern Seoul on July 16.
They will be asked to sleep wearing a smartwatch, which will measure their heartbeat as the participants fall asleep.
Whoever sleeps the “most comfortable sleep” will win 500,000 won (US$387) as a travel subsidy.
The contest will also choose the “best dresser” who will also win gifts.
