SEOUL, April 10 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Energy Solution Ltd. (LGES), South Korea’s top battery maker, said Sunday that its leadership team had embarked on a trip to the U.S. with the aim of recruiting exceptionally skilled professionals from around the world.
The company on Saturday (local time) held its Battery Tech Conference (BTC), a special event to recruit high-caliber global talent, at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.
About 40 doctoral and master’s degree holders from top-tier universities and research institutes in the U.S., including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Stanford University, took part in the event.
All of the company’s key management officials, including Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Shin Young-joon, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHO) Kim Ki-soo, and Chief Digital Officer (CDO) Byun Gyeong-seok were present at the event.
During the event, company leadership briefed the attendees about the company’s vision, roles and duties by division, and talent growth programs.
The number of applicants for this year’s event stood at about 200, four times higher than that of last year. Among the applicants, a selected number of candidates took part in the event.
The number of employees on the payroll for LGES jumped to 10,919 in late 2022 from 7,524 in December 2020, when the company was inaugurated.
