SEOUL, April 17 (Korea Bizwire) — A Korean Village will be established to provide temporary shelter for survivors of the earthquake in Turkey.
The Korean Association in Turkey said that the village will be built in Iskenderun, Hatay Province, on a plot of 27,700 square meters of land. The village will be composed of 360 containers.
The village will come with an administrative office, health clinic, washing room, prayer room, playground, and a cultural center for children’s education and cultural exchange.
Some US$2 million will be invested to establish the village.
Iskenderun is the city that Turkish forces departed from Sept. 25, 1950, on their way to Busan during the Korean War. There is a monument in the city dedicated to war veterans.
