The Vognyk Choir, consisting of girls from the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth, was established in 1970. Notably, the choir performed on July 3 in front of a hotel that had been ravaged by a devastating wildfire, which had swept through a large area of Gangneung, Gangwon in April.

In April, a severe forest fire engulfed Gangneung, resulting in the loss of Mr. Lee’s studio and artworks. This tragic event saddened those in his vicinity. Currently, Mr. Lee is hosting a special exhibition called “Mood of the Day.” On July 11, at 2:30 p.m., the Vognyk Choir paid a visit to the exhibition and performed the song “Peace and Prosperity for All.”

Observers from the media noted the special connection between Mr. Lee, who had triumphed over autism to dedicate himself to art, and the Ukrainian Vognyk Choir, who had overcome the pain of war to deliver beautiful harmonies.

The Gangneung World Choir Games, which drew the participation of 323 teams and over 8,000 singers from 34 countries around the world, concluded on Wednesday. The 11-day event will culminate with a closing ceremony on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Gangneung Arena.
