SEOUL, Mar. 21 (Korea Bizwire) – As spring blooms in Seoul, Seocho District (Mayor Jeon Sung-soo) is set to host the “Yangjaecheon Art Salon,” a vibrant flea market showcasing handmade crafts and everyday items, from March 22 to 31 at the Yangjaecheon Pop-up Zone.
The lively event will feature over 300 teams of small business owners, craft artists, and young entrepreneurs exhibiting and selling their meticulously crafted artisanal goods and unique daily essentials.
Among the participants will be aspiring entrepreneurs and emerging artists supported by the district, presenting their fresh and innovative creations to the public.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, a giant art balloon depicting “Hechi,” the recently revamped Seoul City mascot, will be on display, welcoming visitors to the event.
Complementing the artisanal offerings, a diverse array of accompanying events and activities promises an engaging experience for attendees. Media art installations, impromptu singing contests for citizens, and an illuminated cherry blossom path will add to the vibrant ambiance.
In an effort to revitalize the Yangjaecheon Street commercial district, the event will also feature promotional activities. Notably, select delivery apps will offer a 10,000 won discount coupon for orders over 15,000 won placed within the vicinity.
From March 29 to 31, the Yangjaecheon Cherry Blossom Light Festival will take center stage, transforming the area into a mesmerizing display of LED-illuminated cherry blossom paths. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in outdoor sculpture exhibitions and cultural performances amidst the enchanting ambiance.
Coinciding with the light festival, the “Move Salon Season 3: Cherry Blossom Dining” event will be held along the walking path under the Yeongdong Bridge, offering a curated selection of cherry blossom-inspired culinary delights and desserts for a truly indulgent experience.
The Yangjaecheon Street commercial district, selected for Seoul’s local brand development project in 2022, boasts over 140 European-style shops, creating a distinctive atmosphere reminiscent of foreign locales.
“As we welcome spring, the Yangjaecheon area will host a cherry blossom festival,” said Jun Sung-soo, the mayor of Seocho District. “I invite everyone to enjoy the festivals prepared by Seocho District, amidst the beautiful cherry blossom paths and the unique ambiance of the Yangjaecheon Street.”
