SEOUL, Apr. 23 (Korea Bizwire) – A professor at Seoul National University’s College of Music who holds Israeli citizenship was recently referred to prosecutors on charges of damaging posters supporting Palestinian rights on the university’s Gwanak campus in February, according to the police.
On April 22, the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul said it had referred the professor, identified only as Mr. A, to the prosecution on charges of property damage on April 15.
Mr. A is accused of defacing several pro-Palestinian posters displayed on bulletin boards across the Gwanak campus in February. The posters condemned Israeli violence and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Mr. A, who was appointed to the faculty at Seoul National University in 2009, is still employed by the university, according to officials.
