SEOUL, Oct. 23 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics unveiled their visions for AI-integrated daily life at the 55th Korea Electronics Show (KES 2024), which opened on October 22 at COEX in Seoul’s Gangnam district.
Samsung Electronics announced the creation of an AI Village at the four-day event, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can transform everyday experiences from home to business environments.
The company’s exhibit features three main zones: AI Home, which offers personalized smart home environments and health management systems; AI Office, showcasing AI-based access control and customized work environments; and AI Store, demonstrating solutions for retail space management and cost reduction.
In a notable technological advance, Samsung is also displaying its new Transparent Micro LED, which combines modular Micro LED technology with transparent display capabilities.
“We’ve designed our exhibition to show how Samsung’s AI can make new daily experiences accessible and enjoyable for everyone,” a Samsung representative said, emphasizing the company’s commitment to delivering “safer, more personalized, and next-level AI experiences” through various products, services, and B2B solutions.
Meanwhile, LG Electronics has transformed its 900-square-meter exhibition space into a theater-like experience focusing on generative AI-based home solutions.
The company’s dramatic entrance features 20 55-inch transparent OLED displays creating a media art installation that overlays AI chipset graphics onto real appliances like refrigerators and washing machines, highlighting their AI Core Tech foundation.
The LG exhibit includes live theatrical demonstrations of LG ThinQ ON, a generative AI-based home hub scheduled for release later this year. Visitors can experience the AI home ecosystem firsthand by controlling air conditioners and air purifiers through the ThinQ app via QR codes.
The showcase also includes hands-on experiences with LG’s latest innovations, including the company’s STEM direct water dispenser refrigerator, AI DD motor technology in washers and dryers, and AI-enabled air conditioning systems.
The electronics show, running through October 25, provides a glimpse into how South Korea’s tech giants envision AI integration transforming everyday life, from household chores to office management.
