SEOUL, Dec. 18 (Korea Bizwire) – South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission (FTC) has announced a comprehensive update to its advertising and labeling regulations, incorporating 32 new provisions from 29 recently enacted or amended laws.

The updated guidelines include several consumer-focused requirements, such as mandatory disclosure of probability rates for in-game items, new regulations for patent attorney service advertising, tobacco warning labels, and real estate marketing for buildings under development.

The revision also strengthens safety-related labeling requirements, including new standards for firefighting equipment, waterworks materials, and water purifier quality inspection certifications.

This consolidation of regulations, which updates the previous notice from November 30, 2022, now encompasses 131 provisions from 89 laws. The FTC regularly issues these comprehensive updates to make compliance easier for businesses and to improve consumer awareness.

The complete guidelines can be accessed through the FTC’s official website (www.ftc.go.kr) under administrative rules and regulations, or through the consumer portal Consumer24 (www.consumer.go.kr) in the labeling and advertising announcement section.
