SEOUL, Feb. 24 (Korea Bizwire) – LG Electronics Inc. said Tuesday it will promote the Super Ultra HD TV lineup for this year while expanding available models for organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TVs.
The company, ranked No. 2 at home and a rival to Samsung Electronics in home appliances, said it plans to market 11 new models of the Super Ultra HD TV, including 79, 65, 55, 49, and 43-inch versions, as it goes after a larger slice of the high-end TV segment.
The new models will be as slim as 8.5 millimeters with a frame 4.7 mm wide and have improved resolution and features compared with the previous Ultra HD TVs, the company said.
Along with the high-end lineup, LG said it will roll out at least five new OLED TV models in 2015.
LG said it will also promote the Web OS 2.0 platform on its smart TVs that comes with new remote controls that bring up customized contents on screen when pointed at the right edge. The platform enables the TVs to sync with other smart devices.
