SEOUL, Sept. 3 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor on Tuesday unveiled teaser images of its first compact concept under the Ioniq electric vehicle lineup, signaling a bold push into the small EV market as it prepares for a global debut at next month’s IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich.
The model, called Concept Three, adopts Hyundai’s new design philosophy, “Art of Steel,” which emphasizes sleek yet robust surfaces and sharply etched character lines. The teaser, showing the vehicle’s profile, hints at a futuristic design approach for the compact segment.
Simon Loasby, head of Hyundai’s global design center, described the project as “an opportunity to redefine the design of small EVs,” highlighting what he called an “aero hatch” form that blends dynamic flow with balanced proportions.
Manuel Schüttl, a designer at Hyundai’s European Design Center, added that the concept seeks to evoke the tactile essence of steel while delivering a pure aesthetic that aims to “bring joy to people.”
Hyundai’s appearance at IAA Mobility marks its first return to Europe’s largest mobility showcase in four years, underscoring the automaker’s ambition to broaden its EV portfolio and strengthen its foothold in the European market.
