SEOUL, July 2 (Korea Bizwire) – ICT service provider SK Networks Service threw down the gauntlet to the mobile game industry by picking mobile gaming as its new growth engine.
Seo Bo-kook, CEO of SK Networks Service, said at a press conference announcing its new business plan, “We picked content services, especially mobile gaming, as the growth engine of the company. We will publish games that many people can enjoy together and establish a sold foothold as a major game publisher coexisting with startup companies.”
Established in 2007 as a subsidiary of SK Networks, the company is well known as a provider of ICT services to SK Telecom and SK Broadband, offering network equipment maintenance and handset repair services.
In the past, SK Networks Service published mobile phones games in the feature phone era, but it lagged far behind due to fierce competition in the market. It resumed its mobile game business last year, and is providing mobile game publishing services under partnerships with over 600 developers at home and abroad.
At the press event, the company unveiled two new mobile games, “Just Now, Donut for Kakao” and “Abyss Lord.”
Meanwhile, SK Networks Service presented its ambitious goal to become one of the top 5 mobile game publishers by 2018.
