ULSAN, Dec.16 (Korea Bizwire) – Law enforcement agents from Ulju Police Station in Ulsan have arrested a man referred to as ‘A’ (59) for shooting a dog with a bow and arrow.
‘A’, who works at a cemetery, was stressed because of the loud dogs that often come to the cemetery to eat food left as offerings for the deceased.
One day ‘A’ was so stressed out, he shot a 26 centimeter long arrow at a three-year-old dog that lived at a temple nearby, after it wouldn’t stop barking.

The dog was found by its owner with the arrow protruding from its stomach. After a surgical procedure, the pet is now in good health.
The police started an investigation after the dog owner reported the incident, but were stymied by a lack of solid evidence.
CCTV footage showed the dog walking around after getting shot by the arrow, but the suspect could not be seen.
After the dog recovered from surgery, police officers noticed that it frequently headed to the cemetery near the temple where it lived.
On a hunch, the police searched the cemetery, and found an arrow similar to the one that injured the dog, as well as a slingshot. After questioning the employees, ‘A’ admitted his crime, and was arrested.
‘A’ testified that he shot the arrow at the dog because it was loud. He made the arrows to catch crows that come to the cemetery.
Police officials explained that those who abuse animals are fined less than 10 million won or serve less than a year in prison.
