SEOUL, Jul. 18 (Korea Bizwire) — The South Gyeongsang Provincial Government announced plans on Monday to reward companies that create jobs by providing help with international marketing.

The decision comes as part of the government’s local job creation initiative, which will prioritize companies that create jobs when it comes to providing financial support for international marketing.

In the past, the local government assessed marketability, patents, and catalogues when choosing which companies to help, but with the introduction of the new measures, companies that have contributed to improving the employment rate in the region will be given incentives, particularly those that have increased job opportunities in the past two years.

South Gyeongsang government officials believe that helping companies branch out into foreign markets will increase exports and sales, which will lead to job growth, thereby creating a virtuous cycle.

Companies that wish to receive incentives for international marketing can submit employment records to prove their commitment to job creation, which will give them a priority during the selection process.

Park Myung-gyun, the South Gyeongsang provincial director of economy and trade, said, “Though the economic slumps both at home and abroad have impacted investment confidence, the unemployment rate in South Gyeongsang Province has decreased for the fourth consecutive month, and the number of job opportunities increased by 17,100 compared to the same time last year.

“Helping job-creating companies with international marketing will create new jobs in return, a win-win situation for both the companies and the local community.”
