SEOUL, Aug. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — As the Galaxy Note 8 awaits release next month, fans of Samsung’s flagship phone are reacting warmly to some of the device’s new features, including the S pen’s GIF-making function, and the rear-facing camera’s live focus ability.
Trial zones for Samsung’s new smartphone operated by major South Korean telecom providers opened yesterday in Seoul, attracting customers in droves despite unfavorable weather.
Office worker Yun Gi-yong, who visited the trial zone at the KT Square in Gwanghwamun to check out the much-anticipated smartphone, thought highly of the S pen, which comes with the phone.
“The usability of the S pen is great and I like that it has many purposes. If the price isn’t too high, I would like to buy one,” Yun said.
However, others argued online that there was little to distinguish the Note 8 from the company’s Galaxy S8, apart from the pen, with some cynically calling the model ‘Galaxy S8 plus S pen’.
With the release date approaching, mobile providers are ramping up sales efforts ahead of time while offering 25 percent discounts for pre-sales, which are scheduled to begin early next month.
The Galaxy Note 8 comes with a memory capacity of either 64GB or 256GB.
