SEOUL, Dec. 5 (Korea Bizwire) — BenQ, Taiwan’s home appliance maker, held on December 4 a new product launching event to unveil full HD home video projectors at the Lotte City Guro in Seoul’s southwest. The new models, the W1070 and the W1080ST Plus, are follow-up models to the W1070 and the W1080ST.
The two short-throw models are capable of projecting 100-inch images within the short distance of 2.5 and 1.5 meters respectively, making it ideal for small living rooms. Embedded with the BriliantColor technology, they deliver with a 6x RGB/RGB color wheel. It also supports the Nvidia 3D TV standard which can reproduce 3D images.
With its digital keystone correction feature that can be adjusted left right and up and down, the models can allow side projection that can save space and can be connected with a variety of mobile devices through their MHL ports. BenQ Korea said its W1070 launched in 2013 accounted for 41 percent of the HD 2000 ANSI projector segment in Korea.
