BUSAN, Jan. 15 (Korea Bizwire) — A group of American students are visiting the port city of Busan to learn about the Korean footwear industry.
The Busan Economic Promotion Agency and Dong-A University announced on Tuesday that they it is hosting the 2020 Global Footwear Designer Workshop until Friday.
The workshop has invited seven students from MSU Denver’s Department of Industrial Design and seven others from Dong-A University.
They will visit newly emerging footwear companies in Busan to familiarize themselves with Korean infrastructure and technology, and attend courses on footwear design as well as additional networking sessions.
Colorado, where MSU Denver is located, is home to the VF Corporation headquarters, a global fashion conglomerate responsible for The North Face, Vans, Timberland, and 30 other major fashion brands.
VF is a strong supporter of MSU Denver and its programs to train footwear professionals.
