ICHEON, Dec.15 (Korea Bizwire) – On December 14, an individual referred to as A (52) was driving his BMW on the Yeongdong expressway near Icheon when it caught on fire.
The fire destroyed the interior of the car, and the fire department assumed that the total loss would be around 8.8 million won. As soon as the fire started, A stopped the car at a rest stop and got out.
The police and fire department are investigating the cause of the fire.
This was not the only BMW that caught on fire. Numerous incidents of running cars catching on fire were also reported on November 3, 5, and 8 near Sangam-dong, Mapo, Jayuro and Euiwang, Gyeonggi Province.
Among the cars that caught fire, the ones on November 3 and 5 were BMW’s 520d model, which was ordered by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to be recalled.
The driver whose car caught on fire on November 3 protested in front of the BMW dealership with the torched car parked in front.
