Singapore, June 5 (Korea Bizwire) – As excitement across the globe reaches fever pitch with the 2014 FIFA World Cup just around the corner, BroadcastAsia2014 will provide a timely, behind-the-scenes look at the technology powering the world’s most-watched sporting event.

Returning to Marina Bay Sands Singapore from 17 – 20 June, BroadcastAsia2014 will host key industry players such as EVS and others who will showcase the cutting-edge technology that play integral roles to bring the 64 matches from 12 stadiums to more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

“Rapid strides in digital entertainment technology have transformed the way content, including sports content, is created, delivered and consumed. Consumers are demanding high definition, on-the-go content, coupled with interactive and personalised viewing experiences on multiple platforms.

BroadcastAsia2014 highlights the game-changing technologies in 4K/UHD, second screen and OTT that will come together at this year’s biggest sporting event to deliver live content in ultra HD resolution onto multiple mobile platforms,” said Mr. Calvin Koh, Assistant Project Director of BroadcastAsia from show organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services.

Enhanced Viewing Experience

At a media briefing today, EVS, the leading provider of live video production systems, showcased their live multi-format production tools, central media exchange and multimedia distribution platforms that will be the enabling technologies for the 2014 FIFA World Cup host broadcaster HBS. EVS’ advanced technologies will enable HBS to make live action instantly available for production and distribution as well as deliver expanded and enhanced content across all multimedia platforms.

“As our world gets increasingly mobile and connected, audiences demand more real-time content on their mobile devices. Broadcasters have the opportunity to use OTT as an enabling technology to reach a higher level of play through a more intimate connection with viewers. We are proud to play a role in bringing the world’s most watched sporting event to multiple platforms for sports fans across the world,” said Mr. Joop Janssen, CEO, EVS.

EVS has picked BroadcastAsia2014 to launch for the first time in Asia, its C-Cast Xplore which is created to transform sports production productivity. Part of the EVS C-Cast connected content platform, C-Cast Xplore is a simple web application which gives authorised users remote access to EVS’s XT3 live production servers. Studios, archivists and editors can tap directly into the server network in the outside broadcast unit for instant access to any camera, and transfer footage to any location.
