SEOUL, Jan. 4 (Korea Bizwire) – K-pop group BTS has been on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for five consecutive weeks with “Mic Drop,” breaking its own record as the longest-charting K-pop group on the U.S. music publication’s main singles chart.
“Mic Drop,” featuring hip-hop artist Desiigner and remixed by Steve Aoki, has come in at No. 82 on Billboard’s main chart for the week of Jan. 6, according to Billboard’s website Wednesday (U.S. time).
The song, originally released in September on the album “Love Yourself: Her,” was rereleased as a remix on Nov. 24. It debuted on the Hot 100 at No. 28 in early December.
The seven-member group has broken its own record as the longest-charting K-pop group on Billboard’s main chart. The group’s song “DNA” was previously the longest-charting song by a K-pop act, staying on the chart for four consecutive weeks.
BTS’ “Love Yourself: Her” album, meanwhile, is ranked 106th on the Billboard 200, up 35th spots from the previous week, remaining on the album chart for its 12th consecutive week.
The group, which made Billboard’s list of the top 10 musicians in the United States in 2017, is scheduled to hold a fan meet-and-greet at Gocheok Sky Dome in western Seoul on Jan. 13-14.
