SEOUL, Sept. 25 (Korea Bizwire) – “Love Yourself: Her,” the latest album by K-pop boy band BTS, has sold more than 750,000 copies in the first week, according to its agency Monday.

The record, the first in the band’s new “Love Yourself” series, sold 759,263 copies from Sept. 18-24, Big Hit Entertainment said, citing music industry sales tracker Hanteo Chart.

BTS’ previous record was achieved with “Wings: You Never Walk Alone,” which sold around 370,000 copies during its first week.

American music publication Billboard magazine, meanwhile, reported that “Love Yourself: Her” rose to No. 7 on its main album chart, the Billboard 200.

Citing data from Nielsen Music, the magazine reported on its website that the record stood “at No. 7 with 31,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Sept. 21″ to become the highest-charting album ever on the Billboard 200 by a K-pop act.

Upon release, “Love Yourself: Her” topped iTunes albums charts in 73 countries, including the United States, Britain, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada and Japan, while the main song landed at No. 1 on iTunes’ top songs charts in 29 nations. “DNA” also became the fastest K-pop music video to reach 20 million views on YouTube.

BTS also became the first Korean music group to break into the top 50 artists played on global music streaming service Spotify last week.
