SEOUL, March 19 (Korea Bizwire)“The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down” by South Korean Buddhist monk Haemin has been shortlisted for the British Book Awards, its Korean publisher said Monday.

Suoh Seojae said the book has been nominated for the nonfiction lifestyle section of the annual awards run by The Bookseller, a British magazine specializing in the publishing industry. The awards started in 1990 to recognize the best writers and their works in seven categories.

The essay, published in 2012, became an instant success, staying atop the best-sellers list for a whopping 39 weeks in South Korea, and has maintained its unwavering popularity for many years since.

In February last year, the English version was published by Penguin Life and soon topped the best-seller list on the British Amazon’s general ranking.

The awards ceremony is set to take place at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London on May 13.
