BUSAN, Dec. 18 (Korea Bizwire) — Local authorities in the southeastern city of Busan have decided to broadcast the sunrise on New Year’s Day online at four popular locations to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Haeundae District announced Thursday that it will stream a live broadcast of the sunrise from four different locations including Haeundae Beach on January 1.
The new year’s first sunrise is expected to occur at 7:32 a.m., and can be watched on the district’s official YouTube channel.
While all official events for the sunrise have been cancelled due to social distancing measures, the district is coming up with plans in case an inflow of visitors occurs.
The district will deploy 80 staff members to check visitors at the entrance to Haeundae Beach.
