Daegu, Korea, July 21 (Korea Bizwire) – The first Daegu Chicken-Beer Festival has been successfully held at Duryu Park in the center of Korea’s fourth largest city. Sponsored jointly by the City Government of Daegu and the Korea Foods Industry Development Association, the Oktoberfest-like event has been staged for four days between July 18 and 21.This unique Korean-style drinking festival has been created in the context that Korean people would like drink alcohol with heavy munchies such as fried chicken or other mouth-watering side-dish.
Famous fried chicken brands such as kyochon Chicken and Hosigi Chicken participated in the event. Kyochon, in particular, played a major sponsor for the event showcasing a variety of events and eye-catching booth there.
Admissions were free for all comers and beer could be purchased upon producing an ID on site or through an online certification process at the festival’s official website (www.chimc.kr). All visitors were given three free beer tickets per person. The festival accompanied a variety of events, including an air ball lotto game and a sweepstake giving away smart PCs, Polaroid cameras, and free fried chicken gift certificates.
On July 18, a concert featuring a singer Koyote was held. Other music performances are scheduled for the rest of the festival. For further information, visit the website above.
