SEOUL, Dec 25 (Korea Bizwire) – Fosun Group is set to spur the establishment of Konkuk University’s senior’s residence brand in China, said Kim Kyung-hee, chairperson of Konkuk University on December 24. Konkuk University is currently operating ‘The Classic 500,’ a senior housing complex that offers premium medical services and hotel-style living services in Seoul.
Fosun Group signed a MoU with Konkuk University in October to establish ‘The Classic 500′ in key Chinese cities. Fosun Group is also interested in establishing Konkuk University Hospital in China.
Guo Guangchang, chairman of Fosun Group, and other group executives visited Konkuk University campus in Seoul and discussed the matter with Kim on December 24. It is said that Guo Guangchang showed great interest in ‘The Classic 500′ in terms of the medical services that are offered by the seniors’ complex with the collaboration of Konkuk University Hospital.
Kim also said that Fosun Group has shown much interest in medical and senior welfare businesses and is holding the brand equity of ‘The Classic 500′ in high regard. Guo Guangchang also revealed in August that the group intends to invest in up to 500 hospitals in China.
The Classic 500 has been so successful that it has been mentioned as one of the models for an urban seniors’ town. The Classic 500 not only offers medical services to its customers, but also diverse cultural clubs such as cooking, dancing, sports classes and spa facilities. It is also located in a commercial center of Seoul, targeting wealthy retirees who pursue a busy and active lifestyle.
