SEOUL, Jan. 11 (Korea Bizwire) – Xiaohongshu, a Chinese social e-commerce mall said Thursday it is looking for South Korean companies who will sell their products on its rapidly growing platform.
Launched in 2013, Xiahongshu, also known as RED, is an online retail mall with more than 75 million registered users and also has a social media platform, according to the company.
“Our users come to the site 52 times a month on average. This kind of advertising effect is not easily gained in other ways,” company founder Miranda Qu said during its business information session in Seoul.
If users post about their purchase, others who like the items can directly go to the product page by clicking tags, the company said. Available products range from beauty items to home appliances and sportswears.
A number of Korean products, including those from the country’s No. 1 cosmetics maker AmorePacific, are currently available on the platform.
AmorePacific said sales generated from the platform skyrocketed 800 percent in 2017 on-year, adding that its goal is to nearly double the rate of increase this year.
