SEOUL, June 21 (Korea Bizwire) — CJ Logistics Corp. has established strategic partnerships with domestic and international shippers to enhance its integrated logistics capabilities.
During the past eight months, the South Korean logistics giant has entered into agreements with four shipping companies, including SM Line Corp. and Taiwan’s Evergreen Marine Corp., to bolster its global logistics competitiveness.
According to the agreements, CJ Logistics will collaborate with Evergreen to jointly operate a container business between Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia.
Additionally, it will leverage SM Line’s marine logistics network and temperature-controlled cargo delivery systems to offer cold chain freight services to and from the United States.
In partnership with Namsung Shipping Co., CJ Logistics will promote integrated cold chain logistics services on routes connecting Korea and China, as well as South Korea and Japan.
Furthermore, it has joined forces with Dongyoung Shipping Co. to transport container cargo from three Asian countries to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, utilizing both ships and railways.
Industry observers note that CJ Logistics’ recent move is aimed at strengthening its competitiveness by providing integrated logistics services encompassing sea, air, and land transportation routes.
For the participating shipping companies, this partnership has the potential to boost their sales through differentiated services in non-shipping sectors, resulting in a mutually beneficial outcome.
