SEOUL, July 1 (Korea Bizwire) — The chairman of Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C) Co. paid a courtesy visit to Turkmenistan’s president and top officials last week to discuss ways to expand the company’s business opportunities in the Central Asian nation, the company said Tuesday.
During his visit, Daewoo E&C Chairman Jung Won-ju met separately with President Serdar Berdimuhamedow and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, chairman of the People’s Council, on Saturday (local time) and discussed opportunities for cooperation in major infrastructure and energy projects.
“Daewoo E&C possesses global experience and technological competitiveness across all sectors of construction,” Jung was quoted by the company as saying, vowing to contribute to the country’s economic growth and fostering bilateral cooperation.
Jung also held talks with Turkmenistan’s deputy prime ministers overseeing construction, power production, finance and economic affairs, during which he requested support and collaboration for expanding Daewoo E&C’s operations in the region.
