SEOUL, Jan. 23 (Korea Bizwire) — Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co. said Tuesday it has completed a major sea bridge construction project in India carried out together with the country’s Tata Group.
The company said it has finished the construction of the 21.8-kilometer-long Mumbai Trans Harbour Sea Link, which began in 2018 in partnership with Tata Projects Ltd.
According to Daewoo E&C, it marks the longest bridge in India to date.
The South Korean builder oversaw the construction, design, procurement and project management of a 7.8-km maritime section of the bridge and one of its interchanges.
With the bridge’s opening, the travel time between Mumbai and the nearby satellite city of Navi Mumbai is expected to be reduced significantly, from the previous two hours to around 30 minutes, the company said.
