TAEBEK, April 15 (Korea Bizwire) – The two locations where the epic Korean drama ‘Descendants of the Sun‘ was filmed, Taebek and Zákinthos (Greece), have entered an agreement for cooperation and exchange.
Taebaek announced the joyous occasion after inking the agreement with the city of Zákinthos.
‘Descendants of the Sun’, a Korean drama which gave viewers all over the world butterflies in their stomach, depicts a beautiful scene of a beach in Zákinthos. When much attention was drawn due to the show, the Mayor of Zákinthos suggested an MOU with Taebaek, a Korean city which is also one of the main locations in the drama.
Both cities are hoping to boost tourism by exchanging cultural content, influencing each other in a positive way.
Delegates from each city will visit the other before June to come up with detailed plans to boost tourism in both cities. The representatives will also discuss how to implement their plans.
Mayor Kim Yeon-sik of Taebaek hopes that the cultural exchange between the two cities could also lead to a revitalization of the local economy.
