SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Korea Bizwire) — Consumers likely have to wait 12 months at most to buy a popular brand vehicle amid auto chip shortage.
Imported car sale platform Getcha reported that it will take more than one year for the GV60, the first dedicated electric vehicle of Hyundai Motor Group’s luxury Genesis brand, to be delivered to customers based on an analysis of transaction contracts and shipment patterns.
The GV70 and GV80 SUVs, too, are estimated to take five to six months for shipment.
The Avante sedan and the IONIQ 5 midsize crossover utility vehicle are estimated to take five and eight months, respectively, to be shipped.
Santa Fe hybrid model is estimated to take more than eight months to be shipped.
Kia’s K5 and K8 sedans are expected to take four and eight months, respectively, to ship.
Buyers of Kia’s Sportage and Sorento Hybrid SUVs will also have to wait for nine and 11 months, respectively, for delivery.
Other models, however, such as Hyundai’s Sonata sedan and Palisade SUV, Genesis’ G90, and Kia’s K3, Stinger and Niro are available for shipment in around one month.
