Job Seekers Prefer a Hybrid Working Environment, Including Both Work from Home and Office: Survey

SEOUL, April 14 (Korea Bizwire)Job seekers prefer companies that offer the flexibility to work from both their office and home, as well as provide free lunch for employees., a survey showed Thursday.

According to a survey conducted by job search portal JobKorea, job seekers prefer companies that allow for a hybrid working environment, which includes both working from the office and at home.

Out of the 911 respondents surveyed, 64.7 percent favored this type of work arrangement, while only 9.9 percent preferred full-time office work and 5.7 percent favored working from home.

Regarding company benefits, the majority of respondents (62 percent) preferred the option of a free lunch, followed by the ability to take a leave of absence for the current day (52.5 percent) and an autonomous, flexible working hour system (48.7 percent).

On the other hand, fewer respondents showed interest in opportunities to participate in foreign workshops or seminars (18.4 percent), daycare centers at company headquarters (15.1 percent), and the option to bring pets to work (4.6 percent).

In terms of workplace location, 28.9 percent of respondents preferred working near subway stations, while 26.7 percent preferred working in business districts such as Gwanghwamun or Yeouido.

Finally, the majority of respondents (60.2 percent) wished to work for organizations with a diverse range of age groups, from the 20s to the 50s, rather than companies with primarily young employees in their 20s and 30s (17.7 percent).
