SEOUL, July 23 (Korea Bizwire) – Kim Hye-seong of the Los Angeles Dodgers has snapped a three-game hitless drought with a two-run single while also stealing a base, though his effort wasn’t enough to help his club win.
Batting seventh and playing second base, Kim went 1-for-4 with two RBIs as the Dodgers fell to the Minnesota Twins 10-7 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Tuesday (local time).
Kim had gone 0-for-8 in his three previous games and had just eight hits in 41 at-bats in July prior to this game.
With the Dodgers down 6-3 and runners at second and third in the bottom sixth, Kim delivered a two-out single to make it a one-run contest.
Kim then swiped second base for his 12th steal, but was stranded when Miguel Rojas struck out looking.
Kim had two groundouts and a strikeout in his three other trips to the plate.
He is now batting .317 for the season and is carrying a .200 average over 16 games in July.

Elsewhere in the majors, Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants went 0-for-4 with a walk in a 9-0 win over the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park in Atlanta. His batting average dropped to .246.
In the American League, Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Kim Ha-seong missed his club’s 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida, with back tightness.
Kim had to leave Monday’s game against the White Sox with back issues after stealing second base. Rays manager Kevin Cash said Tuesday Kim may also miss Wednesday’s game but added he hopes to have the South Korean back Friday for the start of a seven-game road trip in Cincinnati.
Kim has only played 10 games this season. He made his season debut on July 4 after recovering from shoulder surgery last fall, and then promptly missed three games with calf problems.
