SEOUL, Jun. 5 (Korea Bizwire) –Doosan Bobcat, a leading manufacturer of compact construction equipment, has inaugurated a new production facility dedicated to mini excavators at its Chennai plant, the company announced on June 5.
After nine months of construction, Doosan Bobcat has completed an 11,300-square-meter mini excavator production line within the existing premises of its Chennai factory.
The mini excavator production line is expected to commence full-scale operations starting next year, following the installation of equipment and a testing period.
With this expansion, Doosan Bobcat’s Indian subsidiary has added mini excavators to its existing product lineup, which includes backhoe loaders and skid-steer loaders.
A backhoe loader is a versatile machine with a front-mounted loader bucket and a rear-mounted excavator attachment.
Including its portable power products manufactured at the Bengaluru plant, Doosan Bobcat India aims to sell 8,900 units annually by 2028, doubling last year’s sales volume.
Established in 2019, the Chennai factory is Doosan Bobcat’s sole production base for backhoe loaders. Since last year, it has also been manufacturing the S70, a compact skid-steer loader model.
