SEOUL, Jan. 31 (Korea Bizwire) – Doosan Bobcat Launches Korea’s First Commercial Hydrogen-Powered Forklift
Doosan Bobcat has announced the commercialization of Korea’s first hydrogen-powered forklift, marking a significant milestone in the industry.
On January 30, the company held a shipment ceremony for its first hydrogen forklift at its forklift factory in Incheon, highlighting the achievement.
This inaugural hydrogen forklift model by Doosan Bobcat, equipped with a 20-kilowatt (kW) fuel cell, is a 3-ton class vehicle that underwent rigorous testing by the Construction Equipment Research Institute before being delivered to Korea Zinc’s Onsan refinery.
While prototype hydrogen forklifts have been previously showcased, Doosan Bobcat is the first company to release a fully commercialized product, setting a new standard in the industry.
The company has been actively involved in expanding the distribution of hydrogen forklifts, participating in the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy’s pilot project titled “Development of Reliability Verification Technology for the Commercialization of Hydrogen Forklifts.”
With the certification of a 3-ton class model featuring a 10-kilowatt fuel cell expected to be completed this year, Doosan Bobcat aims to supply over 30 hydrogen forklifts and plans to diversify its product line to include 2-ton and 5-ton class hydrogen forklifts.
Doosan Bobcat, proud of its history of producing Korea’s first forklift in 1968, is committed to leading the way in the hydrogen mobility sector, contributing to the expansion of this key energy source in the low-carbon era.
