Dubai Tourism Administration Hoping to Attract Korean Tourists

SEOUL, Nov.11 (Korea Bizwire)Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has established an official office in Korea, in hopes of attracting Korean tourists.

The new Korean office is the city’s 21st office overseas, and will promote Dubai to Koreans as a ‘leisure sports paradise’.

The first brand campaign of the DTCM will run on TV and online portal sites for a year, starting from December.

Issam Abdulrahim Kazim, the CEO of the DTCM, announced that the organization would increase the number of Korean tourists that visit Dubai to 150,000 during the following year.

He also set a goal to attract 20 million visitors to visit the Dubai Expo that will take place in 2020.

“Dubai is already a city where 11 million travelers visit every year, which is the fifth largest number of tourists in the world. Strategically, Korea is a very important location for us, and the Korean office of the DTCM will play an important role in realizing our vision”, says Kazim.

Kazim and Hua Al Kaza, the general manager of the DTCM, emphasized that they are trying to break the prejudice related to Dubai. “People dress freely, and the public safety levels are high. Also, the culture respects women and children.”
