SIHEUNG, Sept. 11 (Korea Bizwire) — It was belatedly reported that large dump trucks were used to protect vinyl greenhouses last Saturday as Typhoon Lingling swept across the country.
The Korea Construction Equipment Association received a request from the city of Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, to protect vinyl greenhouses at the wholesale flower garden in the city ahead of the typhoon’s landing.
The association immediately contacted the drivers of its member dump trucks and ordered them to park in a line around 40 vinyl greenhouses in the garden with about 30 large trucks.
As the trucks blocked strong winds, the flower garden fortunately did not suffer any damage.
One of the vendors at the flower garden expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you for helping out. Thanks to the truck drivers, none of my plants were damaged.”
