SEOUL, March 20 (Korea Bizwire) – Some 150 foreigners will hold an ultimate Frisbee competition titled “Pohang Frozen Fives 2015” on March 21 and 22 to commemorate the opening of the Seoul-Pohang KTX route at a sports complex in Pohang. Although the game is unfamiliar to most Koreans, it is rapidly gaining popularity among young people in Europe and the U.S.
Ultimate is a flying disc game in which two five-member teams compete with each other, with both teams attempting to relay the disc to the end zone. Points are scored by passing the disc to a teammate in the opposing end zone. Other rules are similar to American style football, although no contact is allowed. The team that scores 15 points first wins the game.
