SEOUL, South Korea, Sept 02 (Korea Bizwire) – The fast fashion trend that has become widespread with the expansion of private labels is now spreading to even hanbok, or traditional Korean clothing, for infants and children. Compared to the past when parents were reluctant to splurge on, now more affordable hanbok for children are becoming more popular.

‘Istyle24’ (www.istyle24.co.kr), an online fashion mall said on August 30 that sales have increased by 295 percent compared to last year. New modern and trendy hanbok that have become more affordable with prices ranging from 20,000-30,000 won are attracting parents to buy these outfits that look like a cuter version of adult hanbok.

To celebrate the upcoming Chuseok holidays, Istyle24 is holding a special promotional event and offering a 10-percent discount on children’s hanbok. Ahn Ja-yeon, marketing director in charge of infant and children clothing at Istyle24, said, “Comfort as well as color and design that enable maximum mobility is particularly important for children’s hanbok. Customers can purchase high-quality children’s hanbok online at prices that are substantively cheaper than at brick-and-mortar stores.”
