SEOUL, Dec. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — The first export batch of K2 battle tanks and K9 self-propelled howitzers has arrived in Poland.
The Polish Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday (local time) that it held a delivery ceremony for 10 units of K2 Black Panther tanks and 24 units of K9 howitzer at a Navy base in Gdynia.
Following the primary contract signed between South Korea and Poland, the first export batch was delivered just four months after Poland’s emergency request.
For Poland, it has become imperative to prevent a “defense vacuum” amid a surge in military aid being sent to Ukraine.
Despite the cold snap, Polish President Andrzej Duda and other high-ranking government officials participated in the ceremony, reflecting the importance of the military equipment.
