JEJU, Nov. 19 (Korea Bizwire) — Flights to the southern resort island of Jeju are being overbooked as travelers are lining up to visit the popular vacation destination.
Airline sources reported that reservations for flights bound to Jeju have reached 80 to 90 percent capacity both on weekdays and weekends as the ‘With Corona’ policy, or a phase-by-phase transition into the post-pandemic era, began to kick in.
Between Oct. 17 and Nov. 16, 1.35 million travelers flew to Jeju, with only 8 percent cancellations or no-shows.
Between Nov. 1 and 17, following the introduction of the ‘With Corona’ policy, more than 690,000 people visited Jeju, for an average of more than 40,000 every day.
Jeju residents, however, complain that flight travel has become extremely difficult as tickets are selling out due to the spike in demand.
