SEOUL, Dec. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — With the South Korean government imposing entry restrictions on the unvaccinated population to curb the spread of COVID-19, frustration continues to grow among those who have avoided vaccination due to concerns related to underlying diseases or other side effects.
Among them, many office workers are beginning to feel the disadvantages of not being vaccinated at work, raising voices of frustration.
“Employees who have not been vaccinated cannot join others during lunchtime,” said a 28-year-old office employee surnamed Gong working in Seoul. “People who haven’t been vaccinated are basically being treated like outcasts.”
On Blind, a popular online community of salaried workers that guarantees anonymity, many users are sharing their thoughts about getting booster shots.
“I’ve been instructed to get a booster shot. After what I went through the last time I got my shot, though, I’m seriously torn between getting it or not,” one of the anonymous members said.
The police are also concerned about vaccination.
While they don’t keep a separate list of employees to ensure vaccination like they did when the vaccines were first introduced, they are encouraging police officers to receive booster shots.
