GANGWON, April 5 (Korea Bizwire) – The Gangwon Provincial Police Agency is looking for a variety of talented individuals ranging from previous members of the national team, skiers and bodybuilders to models, as part of a project to seek highly talented people and give them opportunities to participate in volunteer work.
Dubbed the “finding hidden talents” project, the law enforcement agency’s latest effort to bring the community together and give people a chance contribute to society through their talent has been met with more than 53 applicants so far, the police agency announced yesterday.
Of the 53 applicants, 25 were athletes who have a talent for sports and martial arts, while other talents included music and writing.
Some of the applicants boast impressive previous experience, including a former member of the national team, a professional runner, and the first South Korean person to finish an ultra-marathon barefoot.
Choi Jong-hun, the chief of the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency, said, “(This project) will allow people to work while having fun as well as feeling motivated, which will keep the spirits of everyone involved high.”
Choi also said the Gangwon police force will continue with its project to encourage talented people to engage in social contribution activities.
