GIMCHEON, April 18 (Korea Bizwire) — The highest zip wire in Korea will open in Gimcheon next Friday.
The record-breaking attraction dubbed ‘Rainbow Zip Wire’ will span Buhang Dam in the city of Gimcheon in North Gyeongsang Province between two towers that are 93 meters and 87 meters tall.
Stretching 1.7 kilometers, riders can enjoy high-speed thrills as they travel from one side to the other.
At an elevation of 85 meters, one of the towers will feature a skywalk where visitors with a safety wire can take in the view.
The longest suspension bridge in the country is under construction just 500 meters away from the zip wire, and will open later this year as part of a concerted bid to attract tourists.
“When the zip wire opens, it will prove to be a boost to the local tourism industry along with nearby car camping sites and adventure parks, raising the income of local residents,” said Gimcheon mayor Park Bo-saeng.
