SEOUL, Jan. 24 (Korea Bizwire) – The health ministry said Tuesday it will expand a pilot program connecting health care clinics with patients with chronic disease through a mobile application.
Under the program pushed forward by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, 25 state-run clinics across the country will assist 3,500 people over the age of 20 via the app that the ministry developed.
The expanded program will involve patients with chronic diseases, such as high blood pressure, skin diseases and arthritis, officials said.
A team of doctors, nurses, nutritionists and workout experts will provide a customized diet and health plan for each patient through the mobile app, they said.

The ministry has been making various efforts to help patients through the use of information and telecommunications technology, such as connecting doctors with patients in remote areas.
