SEOUL, Jan. 12 (Korea Bizwire) — The government plans to establish a vocational capability information system aimed at enabling jobseekers to use a formal certificate including information on their qualifications and career when they apply for jobs.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced. that the government deliberated and resolved the revision of the ‘Act on the Development of Vocational Skills of Workers’ at a Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.
The revision laid a foundation for the operation of the ‘vocational capability bank system’, which will be designed to collect and support the integrated use of individuals’ qualifications and career information.
The government’s vocational skill information system will contain information on national technical qualifications, work-learning parallel qualifications and vocational education and training programs.
The revision also laid the ground for the cancellation of a certificate if it’s obtained by false or other unjust methods.
“The vocational capability bank system will make it easier for individuals to prove their vocational capabilities by using the certificate. For businesses, they can hire and place employees precisely on the basis of the certificate,” a ministry official said.
