SEOUL, April 22 (Korea Bizwire)Hyundai Motor Co. has introduced a new program to support senior employees who want to look for new career opportunities after early retirement.

The South Korea’s leading carmaker recently started operating a Career Consulting Service (CCS) program targeting employees over 50 who want to change jobs or careers, according to industry sources.

The program is similar to the year-round retirement support programs that major conglomerates and financial companies operate for senior employees with many service years.

The new program, however, is different from other voluntary retirement programs that some companies operate simply to cut payroll.

Since this is a year-round program without a specific time limit, employees can participate whenever they want.

The participants can attend re-employment and business creation consulting program for one year after retirement, and are eligible for a variety of financial support, including turnover support, career development and tuition for children.

Hyundai Motor said that the program is designed to support its employees for some time even after their retirement, aimed at supporting their successful career shift and helping them to be better prepared for a possible decline in income.
