SEOUL, Aug. 29 (Korea Bizwire) — The Korean Cultural Center Indonesia on Friday hosted an event where participants paraded the streets wearing hanbok, the traditional Korean attire, in Jakarta.
The participants strolled around major areas in Jakarta wearing hanbok, promoting the garment’s beauty and its symbolism of Korean culture to Indonesians.
The center called for applications on social media platforms, receiving more than 100 applicants for only 30 spots.
The selected Indonesian participants were divided into two groups, who donned hanbok before visiting popular destinations in Jakarta.
Local media outlets including RTV covered the parade, as passersby showed great interest in the hanbok.
