JEONJU, Dec.29 (Korea Bizwire)Finding a pharmacy open during the holidays or looking for reliable child care at night seems to be as difficult as solving a complicated riddle.

First of all, there is no clue on where to even get such information from. And even if one gets in touch with such information, it is difficult to remember it or write it down for future use.

Jeonbuk province created a ‘public information map’ homepage (http://imap.jeonbuk.go.kr) to solve such problems.

The map contains useful information from the local government and combines them with location information.

Many different types of information divided in 14 categories including social welfare, health and medical treatment, education, environment, weather, culture and tourism are listed on the digital map.

For instance, lists of hospitals and pharmacies open on holidays are listed under the ‘health and medical treatment’ category.

By clicking the name of a specific hospital or clinic, information such as the address and phone number can be easily obtained.

In addition, locations of public parking lots, of public bathrooms and of government offices can be found.

By downloading the ‘Smart Jeonbuk Map’ application, the service can be used on one’s smartphone.

The service will officially be open to the public on January 25, 2016 after a the final test run.
