Bodh Gaya houses temples from various countries for pilgrimage practices, but South Korea did not have a temple until now.

The new Bunhwang Temple complex, aimed for completion by 2022, will have a primary temple designed after Korean tradition, as well as residential space for monks and believers to stay. The temple will also set up medical clinics for local residents.
